I was a skinny kid all my childhood. But, certain health conditions made me gain weight and on reaching my teenage, I weighed 70 kilos. This also took a toll on my fitness level. Not only did my sudden weight gain made my parents worry, constantly getting mocked by my friends disturbed me a lot. Well, i didn’t do much about my excess weight until I was body shamed by my friend. That day, I decided to bring a change in my life and to become a fit and healthy person.

THIS IS WHAT I DID: Initially, losing weight was difficult but after joining a gym, I managed to lose a substantial amount of weight. Apart from eating healthy and working out regularly, I added one more thing to my dietary plan. I started to drink green tea every day and I followed this regime for a month. I used to drink three cups in a day as I was advised by my trainer not to drink more than three cups.

IT REALLY HELPED ME! Green tea really helped me. I had heard a lot about benefits of green tea but after incorporating it into my diet, I personally experienced its advantages. I felt more energetic and it made a lot of difference on my skin. As my skin is acne prone, drinking green tea made my skin get rid of pimples and acne. It became more clear and also started to glow!

GREEN TEA AND WEIGHT LOSS: Yes, it even helped me in reducing belly fat. As I continued drinking it for a month, I felt the difference. Green tea contains an active antioxidant compound, catechins. One of the catechins, which is referred to as Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), helps to boost metabolism and burn fat.

BUT WAIT A MINUTE… Before you start drinking green tea, you should be aware of certain things. Excessive drinking of green tea can cause stomach problems, diarrhoea and can even cause iron deficiency. You may also experience insomnia. Hence, drink it in limit as excess of green tea can prove detrimental to your health.
